Autumn 2020 offers a crop of EASL hepatology fellowships

From ground-breaking discoveries to the Nobel Prize 2020, hepatology is cutting edge. This autumn, EASL has a crop of exciting fellowships on offer, to foster the next generation of bright minds.

Are you a young scientist on a dynamic career path in hepatology? Are you exploring the next challenge, as you develop as a Young Investigator? Do you have novel, forward-looking research ideas that you are eager to implement? We are looking for talented young applicants.

About the Juan Rodés PhD Student Fellowship

Dr  Juan Rodés (1938–2017), was a great leader and thinker. He paved the way for bright young minds to come. Will you follow in his footsteps?

Deadline: 30 September to 15 December 2020

Who will become the next Juan Rodés Fellow?
You’re a young graduate firmly set on earning a PhD degree in basic, translational, or clinical hepatology. You already have an MSc, MD, or equivalent undergraduate degree to your name, equipping you to embark on a PhD (or you will graduate with one, within the next six months). You’re living in Europe or elsewhere and angling to study further at a different European centre to your home institution.

About the Sheila Sherlock Post-graduate Fellowship

Dame Sheila Sherlock (1918–2001) was a main driver for the forging of hepatology and, in a career spanning 60 years, became one of the world’s most famous names in clinical science. Will you be the next awardee of this prestigious fellowship?

Deadline: 30 September to 15 December, every year. Save the date, so you can plan ahead.

Who will become the next Sheila Sherlock Fellow?
You’re a promising, newly qualified post-graduate researcher, keen to expand your field of research. What’s more, you’re equipped and ready to develop your independent research career. You already have a PhD and/or an MD to your name, and no more than two years of post-graduate research experience, so you’re ready for the next challenge. You’re living in Europe or elsewhere, angling to do your post-graduate work at a European centre. By joining EASL, you’re committing to your future, to securing opportunities to shine, to creating change in your field, and to building relationships with your peers.
