On this week’s blog post, we are pleased to have a very special guest, EASL’s new mascot: Livy! Get to know them better and how they can help you navigate through the different EASL resources.
You can also read about the concept and role of Livy here.
Welcome Livy! Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi everyone! My name is Livy and I’m super happy to meet you!
Where do you come from?
I would love to say that I bravely escaped from a mean eagle somewhere in the Caucasus Mountains. It sounds more heroic. But the truth is that I come straight from the talented hand and imagination of Marcelo Daniel Castro, an illustrator and comic book artist from Argentina. But I was given the name “Livy” by my colleagues from the EASL Office.
Tell us, why did you decide to join EASL?
Because I belong to the Home of Hepatology!
And what is your role at EASL?
I contribute to spreading the latest research and knowledge in hepatology to all our community in a dynamic, accessible, and caring way. In case you get lost, pay attention to the colour of my outfits; they might remind you of some speciality tracks.
Between you and me, if you see me around, you had better come to me because I might have a deal for you.
I used to be the backstage magician at EASL, making sure that everything was running smoothly. But now is my time to shine and you will see me more often!
And what is your role at the ILC 2021?
I wear several hats!
- I will show you around the event platform through a video.
- I will be at the Photobooth if you want to take a picture with me!
- You might meet the real me at the 30-Day Challenge on EASL Campus…
- I will be on social media. Do not hesitate to come and say “hi”!
- As mentioned before, if you get lost, keep an eye on the colour of my outfit.
- And more…
Actually, the best way to find out is to visit the platform!
What do you like about EASL?
I love meeting new pioneers in hepatology and liver-related research, exchange with this large and diverse community. Of course, this also includes meeting with nurses and patients.
We all want to know, what are you listening to right now?
Are you asking because of my headphones? I listen to everything, but right now I am catching up on the latest Ask EASL podcasts. Have you listened to them yet?
What is your mantra?
Your health is your wealth! This is why I observe a healthy diet. There is nothing tastier than a salad with Provençal carrots, raw collard, sautéed broccoli, avocado, and beetroot! It’s very good for the liver you know…
How would you define yourself in three words, and why?
Curious, because I am always eager to learn new things and to meet new members of the liver community.
Benevolent, because I will help you make the most out of EASL events and resources. Sharing knowledge in a more accessible way is important to me.
And dynamic! Because I am always following new trends in hepatology and research, ready to share all about it with the liver community.
Thank you very much for your time, Livy. Do you have any final words for our readers?
Thanks to you for your time! I can’t wait to meet you all, starting at ILC 2021! By the way, don’t forget to check out the latest blog post on tips on how to get the best out of ILC 2021.
