Module 3: Multidisciplinary management of the patient with MASLD

This module aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the multidisciplinary management of MASLD, linking therapeutic approaches to their pathophysiological background. It will emphasise evidence-based treatment strategies, integration of metabolic and hepatic care, and implementation of coordinated models across primary and secondary healthcare settings.

Academy Organisers:

  • Henning Grønbæk
  • Konstantin Kazankov
  • Karen Louise Thomsen

Please note that the programme is subject to change, and will be updated continuously up to the event.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the pathophysiological rationale behind current and emerging therapeutic approaches for MASLD.
  • Apply a multidisciplinary perspective to the management of MASLD, integrating hepatology, endocrinology, cardiology, nephrology, and general practice.
  • Evaluate the role of incretin-based and liver-targeted therapies within the broader framework of metabolic health.
  • Understand and implement HCC screening policies and multidisciplinary team (MDT) decision-making in clinical practice.
  • Develop and adapt models of care for MASLD management across primary and secondary healthcare settings.

Top 3 reasons to attend

  • Gain comprehensive, cross-specialty insights into MASLD pathophysiology and management from leading national and international experts.
  • Learn how to translate clinical guidelines into daily practice through workshops, MDT simulations, and real-world case discussions.
  • Strengthen your ability to deliver integrated metabolic-liver care, bridging disciplines and healthcare sectors.

Target audience

  • Early-career specialists and trainees seeking to develop expertise in evidence-based and multidisciplinary MASLD care.
  • Clinicians and researchers in hepatology, endocrinology, diabetology, cardiology, nephrology, and internal medicine.
  • Healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of metabolic liver disease and its systemic complications.
