World Hepatitis Day 2023 – 28 July

Hepatitis can’t wait!
As a proud supporter of the fight against liver diseases, EASL invites you to join the celebration of World Hepatitis Day today, 28 July 2023. Every 30 seconds, someone loses their battle with viral hepatitis, resulting in 1.34 million worldwide deaths each year. We need to act now.
What is World Hepatitis Day?
World Hepatitis Day (WHD) is a momentous occasion that brings together people from all corners of the globe to raise awareness of the pressing global burden of viral hepatitis and to drive meaningful change. World Hepatitis Day is one of WHO’s seven officially mandated global public health days.
Call to Action
The theme for WHD 2023 is a powerful Call to Action. It urges us to expedite the elimination of viral hepatitis, ensuring prompt testing and treatment for those in genuine need. Across the globe, individuals and communities are taking charge of their lives and driving positive change. While we applaud their efforts, we also demand further action to make a lasting impact.
