3.3 million died worldwide in 2012 due to excessive alcohol consumption
The WHO released a global report on alcohol yesterday finding that 3.3 million died worldwide in 2012 because of excessive alcohol consumption. The WHO called for governments to implement key alcohol control measures such as tax and pricing measures and restrictions on advertising, as well as implement treatment strategies in their health services.
