We would like to invite passionate advocates, health professionals, and health and advocacy organisations committed to advancing liver health to apply to join the EASL Global Liver Advocacy Network. Launching at EASL Congress 2025, this initiative will unite a global community dedicated to raising awareness, influencing policy, and driving impactful change in the fight against liver disease. By joining this network, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals, share best practices, and strengthen advocacy efforts worldwide.

EASL Global Liver Advocacy Network key objectives:
- Create accessible platforms — such as annual conferences, virtual webinars, EASL Studio events, and interactive forums — where health professionals can showcase advocacy initiatives that have made a tangible impact.
- Develop a repository of case studies to inspire replication and innovation globally.
- Connect advocates, healthcare providers, policy-makers, and patient organisations from diverse regions to share expertise, ideas, and resources.
- Establish thematic working groups focused on shared challenges, such as reducing liver disease stigma or increasing access to liver disease screening and treatment in underserved areas.
- Strengthen ties with national and international associations, NGOs, policy-makers, and community leaders to extend the reach of advocacy efforts.
- Offer dedicated advocacy training programmes, including workshops, e-learning courses, and hands-on training sessions.
- Advocate for policies that:
– Promote early detection, prevention, and treatment of liver diseases.
– Address social determinants of liver health and risk factors, such as alcohol use, obesity, and viral hepatitis.
– Increase funding for liver disease research and care programmes.
– Reduce stigma through public education campaigns.
- Publish policy briefs and engage with decision-makers to ensure liver health remains a priority on health agendas.

Application process
- Candidates are to provide a completed application file (details below) by email to Irene Mosqueira at EASL office – irene.mosqueira@easloffice.eu
- The file will then be submitted for review during the next scheduled Policy, Public Health, and Advocacy Committee meeting (monthly review).
- Answer to be provided to the candidate by email thereafter.
Application file criteria
- Submit a cover letter explaining your interest in becoming a member of the Global Liver Advocacy Network. Include information describing previous work and activities/initiatives that demonstrate an alignment with the network.
